Pioneers

I am sure that I have blogged these thoughts before. But as Hester, Chris and their precious little daughters prepare to embark on a further adventure beyond Hong Kong to Singapore I just have to Blog my congratulations and admiration as to the extent of their courage and strength of spirit and imagination to undertake such a major life-change not that long after making a similar life-move to HK. I have blogged about the similarity to old-style pioneers. Before them people trekked West along the Oregon Trail, others trekked away from their original homeland to find a new life for themselves and I see Hester and Chris bravely going where others fear to tread.
I was kind of shocked when Hester got her starred A's at Portishead
and she declared her intentions to leave
and go to St Brendans.
I remember a tutor at St Brendans giving us a project/assignment that he was unable to get Hester to do. He said "Here it is....if you can get her to do it....you will be doing a better job than me"
Patsy and I feared for the worst. How it turned out that she gained a place at Oxford I will never know. But she did it. She blossomed. She is clever, funny, talented, imaginative and wonderful and no Dad could be more proud than me....................
