Trevor Price

I was making some ceramic sculptures a year or two ago and I couldn't find a "voice" or a "style" everything was Maltbyesque. I did some reclining nudes. Henry Moore, Picasso.....but still Maltby. I deliberately destroyed (smashing with hammers) months of work when I became exasperated at my lack of creativity. I have recently discovered Trevor Price and in some, indeed many of his prints I have seen the ideas and forms that I always wanted to perpetuate in clay. Intertwined lovers, hips, legs, arms, feet and hands heads fingers and toes all given sculptural resonance. He is a print-maker, etcher, painter and caligrapher.....rooted in the 2D. Let me loose with my 3D self and see what I might do!
